BSidesSATX relies on the help of people people like you, who are willing to contribute time to make independent events like this a success. Why volunteer? You will be giving back to your community. Doubtless events like this have helped you grow and now you can return the favor. Volunteering also never hurts your career, providing CPE's and resume building material. Finally, it's an excellent opportunity to meet like minded members of the community, learn something new, and above all have some fun. We'll always help train you for your duty - so don't worry!
General
The backbone of any volunteer group are the all-rounders. 1 hour or all day we can still use you. You'll help run our event on Discord, helping where it's needed.

Session HostOur session hosts help run one of our four tracks. You'll introduce the next speaker, assist with the live Q&A, help thank sponsors, and similar duties!

moderatorModerators help verify that all attendees follow our code of conduct! You'll work closely with our staff members with any violations, help answer questions as needed, and overall help run our Discord server.

career trackOur career track often has resume reviews and career coaching - which is done all virtually. You'll help our career coaches and resume reviewers setup for their events, then help register participants! It will require providing technical support in discord, along with assigning temporary roles through a bot.
