BSidesSATX is soliciting applications for mentorship program to take place May 14, 2018 - June 16, 2018. 

Speaker mentorship program

This year we are piloting a mentorship program for conference speakers who'd like a little help with their presentations. This is your chance to apply to mentor new voices in the security community and help ensure a new speaker's presentation is successful. 

What does it mean to be a mentor

We'll pair you with with a speaker who submitted to our CFP, indicated they'd like a mentor, and who's talk was accepted for the conference.

Your job is to help your mentee succeed -- by providing candid and constructive feedback as they put together and practice their presentation, by sharing your experience and expertise, and by being a trusted, "friendly face" in the audience when they give their presentation at BSides San Antonio.

program structure

If you're selected to be a mentor we'll ask for:
  • 1-2 hours of your time per week between 2018-05-14 and 2018-06-16.
    • We're planning to have kick-off meetings the week of 5-14.
    • You'll be expected to check-in with your mentee around once a week through the date of the conference.
  • You'll also be expected to attend your mentee's presentation at BSides San Antonio 2018.​
